 The Planet Us aims to inspire kids to become the next great generation of cause-related action heroes and humanitarians by energizing them to seek out new and creative ways to make a difference in their own communities.
The Planet Us is a global community. A movement. A social network. A website. A television concept. An inspirational children's book. And an upcoming clothing line.
The Planet Us is also the brainchild of 13-year-old philanthropist, CNN Hero, 2008 Teen Choice Award nominee, and motivational speaker, Patrick Pedraja. ThePlanetUs.com, which launched in September ‘08,is a fun and engaging website where young people can find cool video webisodes, stories, photos, and links that focus on kids doing good all over the world. They can also read Pat’s blog (updated every few days). There are also sections for parents and teachers too!
The Planet Us is also being developed as a children’s book and a television series. The family-oriented program will travel around the world spotlighting the very real—and extremely impressive—things that kids are doing to make the world a better place. Homelessness, Animal Conversation, Environmental Causes, Bone Marrow Drives—will all be covered. Whatever the cause, your family won’t believe what kids, tweens and teens are actually doing to improve the world around them…proving Patrick’s mission statement: “You’re Never Too Young To Change The World!”
